Rewaving the Ecological Mat Framework"
27 April 2023, by Doris Franzbach
The Center of Peace Church Theology would like to draw attention to the following event:
"We, the collective "Decolonize Theology" have organised a workshop for international theological exchange with theologians from the Pacific this semester. In the Pacific, the theological concept "Rewaving the Ecological Mat Framework" (REM for short) was developed. The REM project deals with a theological perspective on the climate crisis. The focus is on indigenous and Christian ecological frameworks (knowledge, ethics and practices) and how these can contribute to addressing today's "ecological crisis".
The workshop will take place on Friday 5 May. The speakers will be Frances Namoumou (Pacific Conference of Churches) and Wilfer Rigamoto (Youth representative to the RME) who will talk about the project and the theology and we will discuss what we can learn from this concept. As Fiji and Germany have a 10 hour time difference, this workshop will be an evening/night event. It will start at 9 pm and go for three to four hours.
The event is not only for theologians, but for all interested people.
We would appreciate it if you would advertise this workshop in your email distribution lists!
