"Life is Not Black and White"

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the ATF invites you to a special concert reading with Judy Bailey and Patrick Depuhl on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The event will take place at Christuskirche Hamburg Altona, Suttnerstraße 18, 22765 Hamburg.

A dialogue featuring soulful songs and texts that range from lighthearted to profound. About the story behind the story… Judy Bailey and Patrick Depuhl present an evening full of humor, heart, and mind. They sing of roots, the world, and home, and tell of father, country, and God, firmly believing: most things He created are remarkably colorful…

Their concert reading is open, vulnerable, and powerful. Or as audience members put it: "What an evening! How brave, how wise, how beautiful," "moving in its depth and originality," "full of hope despite all the troubles." The evening unfolds in front of an impressive stage backdrop that, together with the songs and stories, opens up new spaces in mind and heart.

The artists celebrated their preview with friends and neighbors in their own living room; the premiere took place five days later before nearly 1,000 spectators at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, where the philharmonic orchestra usually plays. The well-traveled duo has visited every continent—with the exception of Antarctica. Their musical journey has taken them to over 30 countries, performing for millionaires, ministers, presidents, the Pope, and Nobel Peace Prize laureates, as well as for homeless individuals, prisoners, and refugees, releasing 14 of their own albums along the way. In 2020, as a team, they won the NRW Heritage Award  for their community-building "Village Music Project.".
